A regular soccer game lasts for 90 minutes. If the game ends in a draw during a knockout competition, then extra time is played. Extra time consists of two halves that are 15 minutes each.
Soccer is played for 45 minutes, and there is then a 15-minute halftime break before players play for an additional 45 minutes. If the ball is kicked off the pitch during a soccer match, meaning the ball is kicked out of play, the clock still does not stop. In knockout competitions, if the match is still a draw after extra time, then the match is decided on penalties.
