The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources makes private land available to the public for hunting and other recreational uses; all accessible lands may be viewed on the Wisconsin DNR government website. The lands are available for use because of the Managed Forest Law and Forest Crop Law programs.
The Web mapping application provided by the DNR helps users to find private forest lands that are available for public use, including hunting, fishing, sight-seeing, hiking and cross-country skiing. The mapping tool also shows approximate locations for available lands as well as important information, such as the landowner addresses and names. Users can also access contact information for the land's DNR Forester.
