Jorge Rivera is a retired professional mixed martial artist who fought in the middleweight division. Rivera had a 12-fight stint in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC, and is best known for his appearance on the television show The Ultimate Fighter 4.
Rivera began his career as a UFC fighter with a win at UFC 44 over David Loiseau. He then lost to Lee Murray and Rich Franklin at UFC 46 and 50, before winning again versus Dennis Hallman at UFC 55.
After being knocked out in his next fight by Chris Leben, Rivera decided to take a shot at the popular television show, The Ultimate Fighter 4, where he appeared as a middleweight contestant. On the show, Rivera did not reach the middleweight finals, but did win a live bout in the finale of the show by technical knockout in the first round against Edwin DeWees.
After the show ended, Rivera returned to UFC where he was knocked out in 14 seconds by Terry Martin at UFC 67. He broke his jaw and then was unable to compete again until UFC 80. After returning from injury, Rivera fought seven more times, finishing with four more wins and three losses before retiring in 2012.
