Michael Oher is mostly known by non-sports fans for having his story highlighted in the Oscar-nominated film "The Blind Side." Oher is a left tackle who played for the Super Bowl-winning Baltimore Ravens in 2012.
Oher was born into a troubled family; his father was in prison for most of Oher's childhood, while his mother was a drug addict. Michael Oher was sometimes homeless and performed poorly in school. At the age of 16, Oher was adopted by the Tuohy family, who guided him into playing football. This led to Oher becoming a highly scouted prospect, an All-American at the University of Mississippi and a contributor to the Baltimore Ravens. As of 2015, Oher has also played for the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers.
