A worthy idea for earning a Girl Scout Bronze Award is to help needy children. Colorado Troop 1515 organized a drive to collect games and swimming gear for children of low-income families. All of the collected items went towards a local summer program. Daisy Troop 565 made catnip sock toys for animal shelter cats on behalf of the Happy Socks organization.
Girl Scout Troop 1753 helped feed homeless teens for its Bronze Award project. They assisted the Stand Up For Kids organization by shopping for groceries and preparing lunches. The troop delivered lunches to homeless street teens along with a card. Troops 837 and 269 teamed up for an evening cookie rally. The teams guided guests through a series of stations designed around the current year cookie action theme. Activities included jump roping, a food game and take-home crafts. The troops also collected books, magazines and videos for a local hospital.
Troop 299 ran a luau camp for Girl Scouts and troop leaders. Their event featured Hawaiian food, games, art and decorative flowers. Girl attendees created an individual flame that created a unified friendship campfire. Troop 2664 assisted Habitat for Humanity, an organization that builds homes for low-income families. The troop assisted the organization by making curtains, collecting food and cleaning supplies, and planting gardens.
