Only available in private lands, the special opportunity season for hunting turkeys is set a week before the regular turkey hunting season. It is set for two days on March 19 and March 20, 2016 and is open only to youths 16 years old and under, as well as to persons with mobility impairments such as those confined to wheelchairs, the hemiplegic, monoplegic, paraplegic and single-leg amputees above the knee. They must have a companion who is at least 18 years old who may call a turkey but may not hunt it. There is also a three gobbler limit.
