The Honduran and Venezuelan national football teams do not have a rivalry. Honduras does have an ongoing rivalry with El Salvador's national team. The two teams even engaged in infamous four-day "Soccer War" that resulted in several thousand casualties during the qualifying round of the 1970 World Cup.
In 2015, Venezuela and Honduras were scheduled to play each other in three exhibition matches. In a February 4 match in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Venezuela beat Honduras 3-2. A week later, in Barinas Venezuela, Venezuela won again, beating Honduras 2-1. The next exhibition game between the two teams is scheduled for September 4.
Football isn't as popular in Venezuela as it is in other Latin American countries. Nevertheless, Venezuela's national team has seen its standing rise since the early 2000s.
