The University of Virginia baseball team ended up winning the 2015 College World Series and finished the season at number one in the national polls, despite entering the tournament not being ranked in the top 25 teams. The team finished its 2015 season with a record of 44-24, and player Josh Sborz won the postseason tournament's Most Outstanding Player award.
Vanderbilt University finished its 2015 campaign as runner-ups to Virginia, after losing in the College World Series. Vanderbilt ended up second in the national polls after entering the postseason tournament as the eighth ranked team. Prior to losing in the College World Series, Vanderbilt won the SEC East Division, the Nashville Regional and the Champaign Super Regional.
LSU ended its season as the fifth ranked team, despite entering the College World Series as the top team in the nation. LSU won its conference championship, its regional and its super regional, before being eliminated in the first round of the College World Series.
