"HBO World Championship Boxing" is a sports series that airs on the premium cable channel HBO. It has been on the air since 1973 and generally airs several times per month.
The exact air dates of the show vary with event scheduling, but at least two broadcasts are usually shown each month. The very first fight in 1973 was George Foreman's title victory over Joe Frazier. A number of other significant championship matches have been shown throughout the show's history. Some fights are broadcast in a pay-per-view format instead of on HBO's regular programming.
A game titled "HBO Boxing" based on the show was also released for the Sony PlayStation in 2000.
