A golf swing weight chart lets golfers know how heavy a particular club will feel when swinging it. Both the actual weight of the club and the distribution of that weight are taken into account on a swing weight chart.
Clubs with more mass in their club head will have a higher swing weight, according to Golfsmith. The more mass there is, the more energy it takes to swing the club. This is why stronger players are recommended to use clubs with higher swing weights.
A club's swing weight is measured by placing the club on a specially made balance that positions it at a fulcrum point. The measure can then determine that weight required to counterbalance the overhanging part of the club.
Swing weight measurements are representing by a combination of six ranges (A-F) and 10 values (0-9).
