The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries provides fishing reports for the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The division splits the Outer Banks counties into the Northern, Central and Southern Districts.
The Northern District includes Dare, Hyde, Currituck and Beaufort counties, while the Central District includes Pamlico, Craven, Carteret and Onslow counties. The Southern District includes the Outer Banks counties south of the Central District. Fishing reports include information on fishing in the ocean, inlets, sounds and bays as well as on the piers and shore. The division issues reports on a weekly basis and usually posts them by early afternoon on Mondays. The reports include the kinds of fish people are catching, the size of the fish and conditions affecting fishing success or failure.
