Triton Boats and Starcraft Marine are two manufacturers of fiberglass boats, which are available at retailers worldwide. Lund Boats offers fiberglass boats and has retail locations in the United States and Canada.
Triton offers the TRX series for bass fishing, plus the Escape and Allure for water skiing. Triton also boasts a wood-free construction, which gives the boat greater durability. Starcraft offers the Fishmaster and STX series for fishing, in addition to the Stardeck and Majestic pontoon boats for tubing and water skiing. Lund fiberglass products include the Pro-V GL and Tyee GL series of fishing boats.
Fiberglass boats first gained popularity in the 1950s when manufacturers were able to mass produce the vessels instead of handcrafting each one individually. Ray Greene, while working with Owens-Corning, produced the first fiberglass boat in 1942.
