The signature feature of the Penny Hardaway basketball shoe is the Foamposite material that creates a frozen wave design along the upper of the shoe. Signifying the genuine Foamposite Pro is the Penny Hardaway logo that graces the heel and tongue of the conspicuous footwear.
The Foamposite material is composed of molded polyurethane that is very light but also very solid. While this material does not stretch or lose shape, it does mold to the wearer's foot. The Foamposite One was released in 1997 and was the signature shoe of NBA player Penny Hardaway. Nike followed the release of the Foamposite One with the Nike Air Foamposite Pro, which looks very similar to the Penny Hardaway shoes but does not sport the Hardaway logo; rather, it replaces the logo with the Nike swoosh on the heel and the "Air" logo on the tongue.
