The SlapStrap, a special suspension accessory product, is one reason the ENO hammocks are so popular. With its tree-friendly design, the SlapStrap is able to hold a hammock up without damaging tree bark or requiring the use of complicated knots.

The ENO company was formed in 1999 in Key West, Florida by two brothers: Peter and Paul Pinholster. Following early success, a fire destroyed the company's hammock inventory in 2003, leading the company to move to Asheville, N.C. As of September 2014, the ENO operation has 15 full-time employees and is based out of a 17,500-square-foot building.
