Why Did the Ultimate Warrior Leave Wrestling?

The Ultimate Warrior, one of World Wrestling Entertainment's superstar wrestlers, initially left wrestling due to a contract dispute. The wrestler officially resigned in October 1991 with an on-again, off-again relationship with professional wrestling. Vince McMahon reported the Ultimate Warrior's use of growth hormone led to his departure, according to the documentary, "Warrior: The Ultimate Legend."

The Ultimate Warrior was born James Hellwig in 1959. He made his first appearance as The Ultimate Warrior on WWE in 1987. He appeared sporadically throughout the 1990s with his last major appearance in 1998. Warrior was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6, 2014, and died from cardiovascular disease 3 days later at the age of 54.
