LeBron James did not go to college prior to being drafted into the NBA in 2003. James was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2003 NBA Draft after having only played four years of high school basketball at the St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.
During his high school basketball career, LeBron James recorded 892 rebounds, 532 assists and 2,657 points over four years. After joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, James finished his debut season in the NBA by winning the NBA Rookie of the Year Award for the 2003-2004 season. LeBron James also made his debut for the U.S. national basketball team during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
