When Did Italy Win the World Cup?

Italy won the 1934 World Cup as the tournament's hosts in the second World Cup ever held. It successfully defended its world championship four years later. The Italians won again in 1982 on Spanish soil, defeating Germany 3-1 in the final match. In 2006, Italy and France were tied at one goal each after full time, but the Italians won a penalty shootout to claim the World Cup trophy. However, in 2010 and 2014, Italy was eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
