Cris Collinsworth played college football for the University of Florida on an athletic scholarship, and he played pro football for the Cincinnati Bengals. Collinsworth played his eight-year professional career for the Cincinnati Bengals during the 1980s. During those years, he was named to the Pro Bowl three times.
Collinsworth was born Anthony Cris Collinsworth, on Jan. 27, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio. He was born to Abraham Lincoln Collinsworth and Donetta Browning Collinsworth. His father shared the same birthday as the late President Lincoln. Collinsworth graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in accounting. Towards the end of his NFL career, he started law school, and he completed a law degree in 1991 from the University of Cincinnati. As of 2015, Collinsworth works as a sports broadcaster for the television network NBC.
