National Basketball Association (NBA) player Chris Bosh was compared to a dinosaur, specifically a raptor, when he played for the Toronto Raptors. Bosh reportedly resembled the Toronto mascot thanks to his loud, open-mouthed, screaming celebrations of joy on the basketball court. Bosh as a dinosaur became a meme in June 2014 during the NBA playoffs. Bosh played with the Raptors from 2003 to 2010.
One meme superimposes Bosh's head over a Velociraptor from the first "Jurassic Park" movie. The meme features two raptors, one with Bosh's head stalking a person with Tim Duncan's look of surprise and disbelief superimposed over the head. The idea is that Bosh and his raptor buddies rough up Duncan in the NBA Finals. Another image shows three raptors, one with a Bosh head, surrounding a human with Duncan's head in a forest setting.
In 2011 Bleacher Report featured the top six NBA players who resemble dinosaurs thanks to Bosh's inside joke with his former team. Nene Ballirio, Carlos Boozer and others are compared to extinct "terrible lizards" because of their on-court behavior.
Bosh played seven seasons in Toronto, and his team was in the playoffs twice. As of 2014, Bosh has been in Miami four seasons, with three appearances in the NBA Finals and two championships. The forward/center has appeared in eight NBA All-Star Games.
