The Response Sport is a type of hard tail mountain bike manufactured by Diamondback Bicycles. It was first manufactured in 1994 and last manufactured in 2012, as of July 2014.
The Response Sport is part of Diamondback's ongoing Response series and was originally introduced as a lower-priced entry-level alternative to the Response Elite mountain bike. It was first manufactured in 1994 and was also produced in 1995, in 2000 and yearly from 2004 to 2012. Though Diamondback continues to manufacture a number of other bikes in the Response series, the last Sport model was produced in 2012. The 2012 Response Sport is a step up in quality from the basic Response bike and is a midpoint in the product line, sharing some components with the higher-end Response Comp model.
The most recent Response Sport bikes have an aluminum frame, SR Suntour XCM travel fork, XCT crankset and Tekro Novela mechanical disc brakes. They come stock with Shimano shift levers and derailleurs, the KMC Z-82 chain and Kenda Klaw XT 26" tires. It is available in sizes of 14 inches, 16 inches, 18 inches, 20 inches and 22 inches. The models from 1994 and 1995 have steel frames and debuted at a higher manufacturer suggested retail price than later models.
