The ATP and WTA rank players weekly based on a point system that considers players' results in the previous 52 weeks of competition. Though singles rankings are the most prominent, the ATP and WTA also rank doubles pairs.
Players receive points based on their performances and the level of difficulty of each tournament. The Australian Open, French Open, U.S. Open and Wimbledon Championships are weighted the most heavily in the rankings.
