In 2014, the highest-attended bowl game involved a team from the Pac-12 conference and a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference. However, the conference that was most represented in the 10 highest-attended bowl games of the 2014 season was the Southeastern Conference.
The Rose Bowl, which pitted Pac-12 champion Oregon against ACC champion Florida State, recorded an attendance of 91,322. The Sugar Bowl, the second-highest attended bowl game, had SEC champion Alabama and Big Ten champion Ohio State. One notable example of the draw of SEC teams at bowl games was the Texas Bowl, which involved Texas from the Big 12 against Arkansas, an SEC team. Because 2014 was the first year that the Texas Bowl invited an SEC team, the bowl achieved an attendance that was more than double its 2013 attendance.
