Dale Arnold Jarrett is a sports commentator and former NASCAR driver famous for winning the Daytona 500 race three times, as well as the NASCAR Winston Cup Series championship. He was born in 1956 as the son of Ned Jarrett, two-time NASCAR Grand National Series champion. He started racing in 1977 at a track that his father owned and operated.
Dale met Kelley, with whom he had three children, in 1977. She financially supported him by working as a teacher while he began his racing career. Dale has frequently credited Kelley and her encouragement as the primary reason for his racing success.
