A chainsaw-powered bicycle is a type of motorized bicycle that uses a chainsaw motor to add power to the bicycle. The owner must attach the chainsaw motor to the bicycle on his own.
The installation process for the chainsaw motor includes removing the chain bar and the saw from the chainsaw motor and welding a steel plate onto the bike to hold the motor. Some bicycle companies sell motorized bicycles and motor add-on kits that attach to standard bicycles, both of which are alternate options to a chainsaw-powered bicycle. Depending on the design, the motor may power the bicycle completely or combine with the rider's pedaling.
