Although born in West Germany, National Basketball Association player Carlos Boozer is an American. Boozer was born on November 20, 1981, at a United States Army base in Aschaffenburg, Germany. Boozer's family later moved to Juneau, Alaska, where he attended secondary school.
Boozer, a 6-foot-9-inch tall center and power forward, played college basketball at Duke University between 1999 and 2002, and he was part of Duke's national champions ship team in 2001. He was a second-round selection by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2002 NBA Draft. Boozer played two seasons for the Cavaliers, then spent six seasons with the Utah Jazz. For the next four seasons, he played for the Chicago Bulls, and then began playing for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014. He was named to the NBA All-Star Team in 2007 and 2008.
