Full Answer

The present Sprint Cup Series has served as the top racing series of NASCAR since its inaugural 1949 season. The 2015 slate includes 36 point races and two non-point events from mid-February through late November. While all races are awarded the same amount of championship points, the Daytona 500 is considered the most prestigious event by drivers and features the largest purse. The 2013 edition included $19.3 million in prize money. Other top races in the Sprint Cup circuit include the Brickyard 400, AAA Texas 500 and Coca-Cola 600.

NASCAR's unofficial minor league circuit is known as the XFINITY Series. The 2015 schedule includes 33 point races; many are held a day prior to the Sprint Cup events at the same venue to encourage attendance.

The Camping World Truck Series is NASCAR's pickup truck racing series. The circuit's inaugural season was 1995; 23 races are scheduled for 2015 from February through November.
