Visitors receive a Lake Skinner campground map when they arrive at the front entrance kiosk or can download it from the lake's webpage on the Riverside County Park's website. They can also find campsite registration and a fish restocking schedule on the same page.
Lake Skinner is a premier fishing and camping spot in Winchester, California and only a short drive from Temecula. Not only is it a spot to fish, it is also a good area for bird watching. Bald eagles are sometimes winter residents at the lake. Horse camping is available, and there is a six-mile horse and hiking trail on the west side of the lake that is open from May to November.
