Some of the locations where boats can be docked on Kerr Lake in North Carolina include the Clarksville Marina, the Satterwhite Point Marina and the Steele Creek Marina, as of May 2015. Each of these marinas are privately owned and may charge a fee for boat owners to dock their boats or small yachts, according to the Kerr Lake Guide website.
Kerr Lake is one of the largest lakes in North Carolina, with over 800 miles of shoreline and an area of over 50,000 acres. The lake region is a popular area for camping, hiking, boating and swimming. There are more than 20 landings and access points for boats to enter the water at various recreation areas and parks around the lake, and there are currently three separate privately-owned marinas where boat owners can dock their boats long term.
Satterwhite Point Marina is located about 30 minutes from Durham, right off of exit 217 on Interstate 85, according to their website. They are open normal business hours Tuesday through Sunday and are closed on Monday, but may also close due to severe weather. Satterwhite Point Marina, along with the Steele Creek and Clarksville Marinas, offer boat and small yacht docking and mooring facilities for a fee, and also have nearby campsites, sanitary dump sites and showers.
