The Hoosier National Forest features numerous developed and dispersed campgrounds, as well as sites for RVs and campsites for small and large groups. It also has two rental cabins located in the Hardin Ridge Recreation Area near Lake Monroe.
Individuals interested in primitive and roadside camping must choose sites away from developed campgrounds, stay off forest trails and roads and set up within 125 feet of the road when roadside camping. Developed campgrounds with amenities are located all over the forest, including within the German Ridge, Saddle Lake and Springs Valley recreation areas. The Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area offers multiple camping options, including developed, group and RV sites.
