The Remington Model 770 Rifle offers seven caliber choices, both long- and short-action calibers. The caliber choices include the 243 Win, 7mm-08 Remington and 270 Win. Other available calibers are the 30-06 Springfield, 308 Win, 7mm Remington Mag and the 300 Win Mag.
The Remington Model 770 is an upgrade of the previous Model 710. The rifle features a more durable magazine latch, grips textured for shot control, and an ergonomically contoured stock with a raised cheek piece for scope-to-eye alignment. It also has a short, 60-degree bolt throw for faster follow-up shots.
The Model 770 is chambered for the mild recoiling 243 Win caliber, and comes with a pre-mounted, bore sighted scope. The rifle is both range- and woods-ready directly out of the box, making it a very good starter rifle. Key features include easy-camming and a detachable magazine that holds four standard cartridges and three magnum cartridges. The dual-stack steel box magazine has a durable latch that makes loading and unloading safer and more convenient.
The rifle comes in a synthetic black stock design with a blued or stainless barrel with nickel-plated action and bolt. The bolt-to-barrel lockup includes three solid steel lugs that lock the bolt inside the barrel, rather than the receiver, for added strength.
