Bob Lilly is a former football player who was with the Dallas Cowboys from 1961 to 1974. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980. During his playing career, Lilly was given the nickname of Mr. Cowboy and played as a defensive tackle.
As a professional player, Bob Lilly played 196 consecutive games during the regular season and only missed a game in 1973 due to a leg injury. In 1961, Lilly was selected by the Dallas Cowboys as their first-ever draft pick. Prior to becoming a professional player, Bob Lilly played as a defensive tackle at Texas Christian University.
