The Buffalo Bills won the most consecutive AFC titles, winning four times from 1990 to 1993. However, Buffalo lost the Super Bowl in each of those seasons. The Bills defeated the Raiders, Broncos, Dolphins and Chiefs respectively during this run.
The most recent back-to-back winners were the New England Patriots in 2003 and 2004. Tom Brady is the quarterback with the most wins in the AFC Championship Game, posting five victories in 2003, 2004, 2007, 2011 and 2014. The Patriots defeated the Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC final twice each during this run, as well as beating the San Diego Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens once each.
The only teams in the AFC to have never won an AFC title are the Cleveland Browns, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans. The Browns lost back to back AFC Championships in 1986 and 1987 to the Denver Broncos. The Jaguars made it to the AFC Championship Game twice, losing to New England in 1996 and the Tennessee Titans in 1999.
