Full Answer

The seventh manned mission in the Apollo space program, Apollo 13 was intended to land on the moon two days after its launch, according to Wikipedia. This, however, didn't happen, due to an explosion of an oxygen tank which crippled the service module. This forced the crew to shut off most of the electrical equipment on board to conserve battery power. Despite this, and the related challenges, Apollo 13 returned to Earth safely on April 17, 1970.
