Self-sustaining energy, also known as sustainable energy, is energy that meets present needs without depleting natural resources for future generations. It focuses on preserving the environment while developing technology in ways that use renewable energy.

Renewable energy sources include solar power, wind energy, hydroelectricity, and geothermal energy. These are energy sources that continuously renew themselves and cannot be depleted. Self-sustaining energy focuses on ways to harness renewable energy while conserving important natural resources, such as coal. With advances in technology, energy demands greatly increase. It is the goal of self-sustaining energy to find ways to meet these demands while still ensuring that there are energy resources for the future.
