The Bahamas consist of 700 islands and 2,400 coral reefs. Only 30 islands are inhabited. The Bahamas are located in the Atlantic Ocean southeast of Florida and northeast of Cuba. Nassau is the capital of The Bahamas, and Freeport is the second largest city. Tourism, international banking and investment management bring in more than half of the country's gross domestic product.
