It is possible to get a labeled skeletal system diagram from Hillendale Elementary School. There are two diagrams, with one showing the skeleton's posterior and the other its anterior.
The human skeleton system, which comprises of more than 200 bones, offers protection for the body's internal organs. It also gives the body's shape, movements and support. The human body is able to move because of the coordination between the muscular system and the skeletal system. The bone marrow produces red and white blood cells. Some of the key bones are the cranium, which protects the brain, and the ribs and sternum, which protect lungs and heart. Bones like the humerus, ulna, radius, tibia, fibula, tarsals, femur, metatarsals, carpals and metacarpals make up the human limb system.
