MedlinePlus states that the average person produces approximately 1 quart of sweat per day. There is an immense number of eccrine sweat glands in the body; according to MedlinePlus, the number of eccrine sweat glands number is in excess of 2.5 million.
WebMD explains that the factors that determine how much a person sweats on a given day include the spiciness of the food the person consumes, his nervousness, the amount of exercise he gets, sickness and even some medical conditions. The Mayo Clinic notes that one such medical condition is hyperhidrosis, which is brought on by overactive sweat glands.
