According to NASA, the sun’s diameter is approximately 100 times larger than the diameter of the earth. The earth would have to be lined up 100 times in order to stretch across the face of the sun.

The earth comes closest to the sun in the winter time in the northern hemisphere, and it is approximately 93 million miles from the sun to the earth.
