How Many People Died in Hurricane Ivan?

Hurricane Ivan left a trail of destruction in which 92 people lost their lives. The death toll was 39 in Grenada, 25 in the United States, 17 in Jamaica, four in the Dominican Republic, three in Venezuela, two in the Cayman Islands and one each in Tobago and Barbados.

In the United States, seven deaths were caused by tornadoes spawned by Ivan, five were due to freshwater floods, four people died in mudslides, wind was directly responsible for three lost lives and a high storm surge killed two. According to the NOAA, Ivan also was indirectly responsible for another 32 deaths in the United States.
