The average temperature on Neptune is minus 392 degrees Fahrenheit, according to NASA. Neptune is the farthest major planet in Earth's solar system from the Sun, and it is about 30 times farther from the Sun than Earth, resulting in drastically low temperatures.
Researchers have measured a slight bump in temperature of about 18 degrees when the planet's south pole is nearer the Sun. A year on Neptune is comparable to 165 Earth years, which means that each season on Neptune lasts about 40 Earth years. NASA researchers report that Neptune experiences wind gusts of up to 1,240 mph, stronger than any other planet in Earth's solar system.
