The United States Geological Survey Earthquake Hazard Program provides a live earthquake monitoring system that monitors time, location, depth, and other valuable information on earthquakes worldwide. The website also offers several learning resources, live global maps and seismic activity archives.
USGS utilizes the Advanced Seismic National System, the Global Seismographic Network and user volunteered records to keep the data of the monitoring system up to date. With this network, the USGS is capable of reporting around 50 earthquakes per day and 20,000 earthquakes per year globally. Along with real-time technical seismological data, USGS offers assessment on casualties and financial impacts for larger earthquakes within the past seven days.
