On a standard track, 200 meters covers roughly half of a full lap around the track. The 200-meter race is a common track event across all levels of competition, as most organizations utilize metric measurements on standard tracks.
During a 200-meter race, runners should give an all-out effort for the duration of the race, as it's rather short and there's no need for a participants to pace himself. Midway through the race, the runner should start to focus on driving his arms down and back and pushing hard off the ground before sprinting through the finish line at the conclusion of the race.
