Exothermic processes: processes such as condensation of water vapor, rusting iron, burning sugar and mixing water with acids all cause a reaction that emits heat energy. Objects in the surrounding region will inevitably begin to experience a rise in temperature. Other examples of this type of reaction include burning of candles, mixing sodium sulfite and bleach, formation of snow in clouds, nuclear fission and combining atoms to make a molecule in the gaseous stage.
