The brightest colors tend to have neon, electric or fluorescent in their names, such as neon pink or fluorescent green. Fluorescent orange is also an extremely bright color that is sometimes called hunter-safety orange because of its use in hunting safety vests. Electric blue is another intensely bright color.
Bright colors are colors with high intensity. The highest intensity natural colors are the purest colors on the color wheel, especially red, yellow and orange. Neon and fluorescent colors contain chemical additives that create unnatural levels of intensity through the conversion of ultraviolet waves invisible to the naked eye into visible wavelengths.
