Guinea hens are also known to eat weed seeds and snakes. Chickens are not quite as effective with dissipating tick populations as guinea hens because chickens do not patrol the ground as thoroughly. Chickens also tend to do more damage to the ground and landscaping because they like to scratch the surface.
