In the basic equation for Doppler effect, the frequency equals ([c + v_r]/[c + v_s]) x f_0. In that equation, c is equal to the velocity of the waves, v_r is the velocity of the sound's received, v_s is the velocity of the source and f_0 is the emitted frequency.
