To perform the conversion manually, first convert the hours to seconds by multiplying the number of hours by 3,600. Then convert the minutes to seconds by multiplying the number of minutes by 60. Add the results of these calculations to the number of seconds to get the total number of seconds. Then divide the sum by 60 to get the decimal equivalent in minutes, or divide by 3,600 to get the decimal equivalent in hours.
