Any primary color and its complementary color can be combined to make brown. Purple and yellow, blue and orange, or red and green all produce the color brown. Mixing orange and black also creates the color brown.
There is a diverse amount of brown in existence. The specific shade of brown required can be achieved by adding different colors. Mixing all the primary colors together in different proportions produces different shades of brown. Adding the colors black or white will give a lighter or darker shade. Also, adding the darker shade of the color used in creating brown will change the tone of the brown and make it darker. To achieve a brighter brown, add more of the colors originally mixed.
