Taupe is a neutral color ranging in variation from the beige end of the scale to the gray end of the color spectrum. Interior designers are fond of the color, which many of them describe as a warm gray, according to Houzz.
Due to its versatility, taupe suits a wide variety of interior styles, reports Houzz. It is as natural-looking in a contemporary setting as it is in a more traditional environment, blending in to let the more flamboyant colors take center stage. Taupe nicely brings out the essence of blue colors, such as chartreuse, and serves as a counter to busy patterns.
