Most recycling bins placed at pople’s homes don’t accept clothing to be recycled. Waste management companies save these bins for plastic, metal, paper and cardboard. Some of them also take small electronics, batteries and lightbulbs.
To recycle clothing, there are some other methods. One way is to drop them off at a local clothing recycling center. Many of them have drop-off locations where people simply place the clothing in the recycling bins and don’t need to do anything else. The downside to this option is that no receipt is given for the donation.
For a receipt, go to a store that takes secondhand clothing to re-sell, such as Goodwill or other thrift stores.
